well the good times must come to an end, even for me. in a few weeks i start on my new long term project. i'll still try to get some commissions on the side and i'll try to keep up with my sketches, though. its getting harder and harder for me to just pick up a pencil and draw without a concrete idea in mind... i need to work on that.

----

i just did a tutorial on "how to create basic pin-ups" for the fine folks over at comictutorials.com ([link]. it may not be the best way or the most efficient, but it works for me. i hope somebody finds it helpful. i wish there was a site like this back when i was still learning how to frikkin' draw.

COLT NOBLE just came out and has been getting great reviews*! the book turned out really nice, and i can't thank tim seeley and the rest of the team enough for their tremendous efforts.

PLUGS:

COLT NOBLE AND THE MEGALORDS (ONE-SHOT) is still available!
story TIM SEELEY
art MIKE DIMAYUGA
cover TIM SEELEY & DOMINIC MARCO
FEBRUARY 10
64 PAGES / FC
$5.99

Hack/Slash creator TIM SEELEY brings his acclaimed web comic to the printed page! Welcome to Planet Solus: a world of magic, monsters and high technology! It's also home to Prince Jaysen, an average 15-year-old with hormones afire!  Jaysen finds the mystical figure of action, an artifact that allows him to transform into COLT NOBLE, PALADIN OF POWER, just as his father, the King is taken hostage by a rag tag crew of would be evil overlords! Will he use the powerful body to save his world from the forces of darkness, or will he just try to get laid? It's Space opera meets teen sex comedy! This collection contains the entire story, sketches, and pin ups, PLUS a PRINT EXCLUSIVE tale featuring the origin of the ANIMALIENS!
"Fans of the quirky He-Man cartoon will notice the similarities, but SEELEY has put a modern sense of humor to this story that makes COLT NOBLE AND THE MEGALORDS completely unique" -Ain't it Cool News

Really dug Colt Noble the first time I read it, Mike, and that ain't changed. Gonna go check out that tutorial you did, and I appreciate the link to the website too. Some of my favorite posts by artists are the ones where they show the process or steps they went through to arrive at the finished product. That sounds like what the website is all about!
